MARS/ ARIES picture this, Painting, Sculpture, installation

Mars is a complex archetype with many unseen wondrous traits much like Aries full of fiery energy hard to pin down,

This paintings is still in it's manifesting stage but you get the idea.

Note the Vermilion jumps out from the cooler Turquoise background

Mars was not always a "war" god, Mars was originally a male Fertility God, it was only when the Romans took to going a "Viking" (ha, ha) colonizing others territories that Mars was given his war God position, the reason is that the celebration of Mars's feast is in March, from the 25th to the 27th of march, (or the 23rd to 25th need to clarify this?), the beginning of the war campaign season for the Romans

"Mars. 2" The second part of the sculpture to Mars.

Once upon a time this stuff was product packaging (aka: rubbish/ trash), having fulfilled it's original purpose this material spontaneously enlightened itself and became aspects of a sculpture, it is not recycled, or up scaled nooo, this material transcended that sort of limited labeling concept.

This is the second component of a bigger sculpture which includes the painting previously posted titled: "MARS.1" and yes there's more, there's always more, this is Mars we're talking about, most misunderstood, Mars.

.

"MARS. 2"

Note: correction? maybe,

Tubilustrium -Tubilustrium was an ancient Roman festival in honor of the God Mars that took place on March 23rd and marked the beginning of the campaign season. War trumpets and weapons were cleaned and Priests of Mars called Salii went dancing through the streets. (sounds good to me) I another book I read they said the feast went on for tree days from the 25th to the 27th, yea get the idea

Description: Painted plastic milk bottle, red carrier bag, five liter plastic water bottle filled with stuff (needs iron nails), aluminium meat tray packaging (may need to be painted or covered in iron nails), two old bricks, two bits of bricks, a roof slate, a bronze painted stick and acrylic paint.

"MARS. 1"

Mars is the planet associated with Aries, March 19 to April 21 Acrylic painting on paper on board

This is one of the components of a sculpture of Mars that is presently being composed in my studio.

Sculpture:

The whole sculpture is a four tiered composition, at it's base on a small angled podium is the painting

"MARS. 1"

Above that on another angled podium is This painting "MARS. 3".

Above them is the sculpture "MARS. 2".

Above and behind them all is a tall, large fabric (2.5 to 3 meters ??) folded into a figure form lit from behind ("MARS. 4"/ I numbered them in the order I make them) to create a dramatic shadowy body imposing itself into a space.

I'll worry about which space later, in the mean time MARS is cosmically protecting my studio space.

"MARS. 2":

Close up, painted upside down plastic milk bottle as a head, red shopping bag as cape

Sample image of how the cloth will be folded

(for reference)

What are the characteristics of an Aries?

Aries Traits:

Enterprising, Incisive, Spontaneous, Daring, Active, Courageous and Energetic, the Aries are the proverbial infants, guileless and optimistic to the fault. However, they also are impatient, impetuous, vain, proud and egoistic. (F**kin' hilarious probably because it's true, ha, ha, Ha!) (copied from Google)

More creative adventures in art await.
